Position Title: Technical Specifications Developer / Junior BA Position Type: Permanent Salary: R15 000 p.m. Location: Lynnwood, Pretoria Description: We are looking for the following criteria in a successful candidate: Firstly, the candidate should have an enquiring mind and not let themselves settle on a piece of information until it is fully comprehended. To elaborate, should a client request a tick box on a website, merely saying OK and documenting the fact that we’ll put a tick box on a website will not suffice, they should interrogate the request until they have ascertained the underlying reason, or root cause of the request, thus understanding what purpose we are hoping to achieve by adding the tick box. Secondly, the candidate should have a level of competence that would allow them to translate the understanding of the afore-mentioned requirement into a document. We have documents and templates to guide and assist them, but a degree of eloquence is required to put into words the result of the interrogation. Writing style can also be taught and moulded, but the basic trait of eloquence is required here. Lastly, we require that the candidate posses a sense of ambition, so that we can develop their position and input further. We do not want someone that will merely do as they are instructed, but rather seek someone that will challenge our current methodology once experienced with it; challenge it enough to come and say to us“ I think we are wasting our time with Functional Requirements Specs, we should rather be focussing on Business Process Models, as an example, as they are returning far greater value.” Again, the experience will develop, but the ambition to not merely accept the Status Quo and challenge it is of importance here. Current qualifications are not as important to us as these traits are, but should you posses a related qualification, all the better.
